One branded place for everything between Sundays

Most churches today scatter their members across half a dozen disconnected tools — different sites for giving, generic apps for group chat, third-party services for events, external platforms for streaming, separate places for prayer and announcements. Every touchpoint outside your church’s brand is a missed opportunity for connection and a friction point that quietly erodes engagement.

The Community Web Portal collapses all of it into one branded space that lives at your church’s URL. Members never juggle apps. Guests don’t hit dead-ends. Every interaction reinforces your church’s identity instead of someone else’s.

Fragmented across third-party tools

  • Members juggle five-to-seven different apps for different church activities
  • Streaming happens on a generic public platform with ads and unrelated recommendations
  • Giving redirects to a separate site (often losing the donor mid-flow)
  • Small-group conversations live in a generic chat app no one wants another login for
  • Prayer requests sit in yet another tool, disconnected from ministry teams
  • Sermon notes vanish into personal note apps with no link back to the sermon
  • Event RSVPs scatter across ticketing sites, social events, and email threads
  • Volunteer signups happen in shared spreadsheets or generic form tools
  • No unified view of which members are engaged in what
  • Your church’s brand and identity disappear at almost every touchpoint

Unified in the Community Web Portal

  • One branded URL members already know and visit daily
  • Streaming inside your church’s identity, no ads, no unrelated recommendations
  • One-tap giving from anywhere — donation completes without leaving the portal
  • Each small group has its own conversation space with shared resources and prayer
  • Prayer Center routes requests to the right ministry team automatically
  • Personal sermon notes (text + audio) attach to the specific sermon, searchable forever
  • Event discovery + RSVP + ticketing happen in one place with calendar reminders
  • Volunteer signups integrated with schedules, background checks, and ministry teams
  • Per-member engagement analytics across every module — finally one source of truth
  • Every screen, every email, every notification carries your church’s brand

Built to drive people toward your church, not away from it

The Community Web Portal is intentionally designed to complement in-person ministry, not replace it. Every feature has a path back to physical presence — in the sanctuary, in a small group, at an event, serving on a team. Digital is the front door; the building is still the home.

Online guests → in-person attendees

First-time guests discover your church, sample a sermon online, then see your service times and event calendar right there in the portal. The path from "watching from home" to "walking through the door" is one tap, with directions and a friendly welcome message waiting.

Group discovery → in-person community

Members browse all your small groups, men’s/women’s ministries, and Bible studies in one place. They request to join from the portal, leaders approve them, then they show up to a real meeting. The portal is the directory; the community is in person.

Event RSVPs → packed events

Members RSVP to retreats, dinners, conferences, and special services from the portal. Reminders go out automatically. They show up. You get accurate headcounts ahead of time. Event capacity planning gets simple.

Volunteer signups → serving teams

Browse open volunteer roles. Sign up for shifts. Complete background checks online. Then serve in-person on Sunday or at the next event. The digital signup removes friction; the actual service still happens face-to-face.

Pre-registered kids check-in

Parents register kids from the portal during the week. Sunday morning, they walk up to the kiosk and check in instantly — no paperwork, no lines. The portal makes in-person Sunday smoother, not less necessary.

Digital discipleship between Sundays

Daily devotionals, Bible reading plans, personal prayer journaling, sermon-attached notes — the portal carries the Sunday message into Monday through Saturday, so members arrive next Sunday already deepened, not starting from scratch.

Members who engage through your portal between Sundays show up more often on Sunday, not less. Digital connection makes in-person presence richer and more intentional — not optional.

Every module your members use, in one branded place

Each piece below is a complete module in the Community Web Portal — not a placeholder, not a roadmap item, not “coming soon.” It’s shipped, in production, and your members can use it on day one in any browser.

Worship & engagement

The Sunday-morning experience and everything around it — live streaming, sermon archive, real-time interaction with the people you actually know.

Live streaming with chat, reactions & polls

Watch services live in a church-branded player. Send real-time chat to fellow members you actually know. Tap reactions — 🙏 prayer, ❤️ heart, 🔥 fire, ✨ amen — that float across the broadcast. Pastor runs in-sermon polls; results stream back live in front of everyone watching.

Sermon archive with replay

Every past service is available on demand. HLS-VOD playback with seeking, chapter markers, and search. Members who missed Sunday can catch up Monday. Guests evaluating the church can sample any sermon from the last year.

Personal sermon notes (text + audio)

Members take private notes while watching live or on replay — typed text, voice memos, or both. Notes are theirs forever, searchable, and attached to the specific sermon they were taken in.

In-stream giving prompts

Pastor mentions tithe? One tap during the broadcast opens giving with the donor's saved payment method. Gift completes in seconds without leaving the stream.

Giving & generosity

Make tithing as frictionless as sending a text message. Track everything, automate the recurring stuff, generate tax statements without lifting a finger.

One-tap online giving

Members save their payment method once. After that, giving is one tap from anywhere in the app — Bible reading screen, sermon replay, group conversation, prayer request. No re-entering card details.

Recurring + scheduled gifts

Set up weekly tithes, monthly missions support, or one-time pledges. Members manage their own recurring schedule. Churches see real-time pledge progress and donor breakdowns.

Multi-fund + designated giving

General fund, missions, building fund, special offerings — donors choose where their gift goes. Each fund has its own color, branding, and reporting.

Donor-covers-fee option

Donor can elect to cover the Stripe processing fee so the church receives 100% of the intended gift. Default it on if your congregation prefers — checkbox at checkout otherwise.

Giving history + auto-generated tax statements

Members see their full giving history at any time. Year-end tax statements generate automatically and are downloadable from their account. No more chasing pastors for paper receipts.

Community & groups

Move beyond Sunday — connect members to small groups, ministry teams, and each other throughout the week.

Discover & join groups

Browse all groups your church runs — Sunday School classes, men's/women's groups, age-specific cohorts, study groups, support groups. Join with a tap (or request approval for closed groups).

Group conversations & resources

Each group has its own conversation space with shared media, prayer requests, news, and meeting notes. Group leaders manage content; members participate without needing yet another messaging app.

Ministry teams

Worship team, hospitality, kids ministry, ushers, tech crew — every ministry has a place. Members see who's on each team, ministry leaders communicate with their group, schedules sync with the volunteer module.

Prayer Center & guided prayer

Members submit prayer requests publicly, privately, or to a specific prayer team. Guided prayer experiences walk members through scripture-based prayers. Prayer teams see what they're praying for, when, and respond.

Events & participation

Make showing up easy. RSVP, register, pay for tickets, find directions — all from the same app.

Event discovery + RSVP

Browse upcoming events with categories (worship services, fellowship, classes, outreach). RSVP in one tap. Get reminders. Check in at the door from the same screen.

Paid events + ticketing

Conferences, retreats, dinners, missions trips — sell tickets directly through the app. Stripe handles payments, the church gets attendee lists in the admin portal, members get receipts.

Volunteer opportunities

Browse what teams need help, sign up for shifts, complete background check submission if required (already integrated). Members see their schedule + history; coordinators see who's serving.

Kids & family check-in

Parents pre-register kids from the Community App; on arrival the kiosk just confirms. Speeds up Sunday-morning lines significantly.

Spiritual growth

Daily practice that fits in members' actual lives. Devotionals, Bible reading, journaling — all in one app.

Bible reading + multiple translations

Full Bible access in multiple translations (NIV, ESV, NKJV, KJV, and more). Search by reference, keyword, or topic.

Verse of the day

A fresh verse surfaced on the home screen each day, set by the church. Keeps Scripture in front of members between Sundays.

Devotionals + reading plans

Church-curated daily devotionals + structured reading plans (30-day, 90-day, full-year Bible). Reading progress syncs across devices. Pastor can publish church-specific devotional series.

Personal Notes with audio

Beyond sermon notes — Bible study notes, prayer journals, reflections. Text + voice memo support. Notes are private to the member, never shared with the church or other members.

Verse of the day + featured banners

Home screen shows the day's verse, featured announcements, and church-curated content. Visual + textual content rotates daily without admin effort.

Announcements & information

Replace email blasts and Facebook posts with a single church-branded surface members actually open.

Announcements with visibility controls

Church admin posts announcements with audience targeting — public, members-only, specific groups. Members see them on the home feed; guests see only what the church wants to be public.

Pastor blog + church news

Long-form posts from leadership — sermon recaps, year-in-review, vision casting. Optional subscriber-only content for premium readers if desired.

Featured banners + promotional cards

Visual home-screen banners for upcoming services, sermon series, capital campaigns. Scheduled in advance through the admin portal.

What a typical week looks like

Four realistic scenarios — member, guest, leader, and pastor — that show how the Community Web Portal fits into your congregation’s actual lives.

1

Sunday morning, online attendee

A member who couldn't make it physically opens the Community Web Portal at 10 AM. The live service is featured on the home page. They tap it, chat hello with friends who are also watching, take notes during the sermon (audio + text), tap the giving prompt mid-message, and check off the new prayer requests posted today. After service ends, the portal shows them which small group meets Wednesday and a one-tap RSVP for next Sunday — keeping the connection warm through the week.

2

First-time guest evaluating the church

Someone found the church via Google. Lands on the marketing site, clicks 'Try our app.' Opens the Community App as Anonymous. Watches a recent sermon, reads the about page, scrolls upcoming events. Likes what they see — signs up as Guest (30 seconds). Now in the engagement funnel: receives weekly announcements, can RSVP to the next service, eventually requests Member status after a few visits.

3

Mid-week small group leader

Group leader opens the Community App on Wednesday afternoon. Posts a discussion question to her women's group conversation. Updates the prayer request list with three new requests from members. Schedules the next meeting on the group calendar. RSVPs to next Sunday's all-church event. Pays her tithe. All in 8 minutes.

4

Member-of-one-church visiting another

Pastor visiting a partner church in another city wants to watch their service live. Opens his Community App account (he's a Guest at the partner church, Member at his home church). Identity persists across churches. Watches the live stream, gives a one-time gift to support their building campaign, sends a chat encouragement to their pastor. Comes back as a Guest, doesn't need re-approval.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Community Web Portal a website?
It's a full web application — opens in any browser at your church's URL (e.g., yourchurch.churchservicehub.com), works on desktop, tablet, and phone. Fully responsive. Members log in, give, watch, chat, take notes, submit prayer — all in the browser. Zero app store gatekeeping, zero install friction.
Do members have to download anything?
No. Everything happens in the browser. Members type your church's URL (or bookmark it), log in, and they're engaging. This is the lowest-friction path possible for guests evaluating your church — they can experience a service without committing to an app install or even an account.
Can non-members use it?
Yes — that's actually one of the most valuable parts. Anonymous users can browse public content (streams, announcements, Bible, events) without any account. Guest accounts (30-second email signup) unlock chat, giving, prayer, and notes. Member status requires church leadership approval and unlocks members-only content. Three tiers, each with the appropriate access.
Is it customizable to our church brand?
Yes. Custom logo, church name throughout, brand colors. On Growth tier and above, churches can apply a full theme. On Pro and Enterprise tiers, the experience is white-labeled — your members never see Church Service Hub branding.
How does it differ from our church having its own marketing website?
A marketing website is the front door for seekers and SEO — "who are we as a church?" The Community App is the relationship space for members — "what happens after I commit to being part of the congregation?" Most churches need both. Your marketing site links to the Community App when guests want to engage; the Community App is where ongoing engagement actually happens.
How does this work alongside our existing external streaming channels?
External public platforms are great for raw reach and discoverability, but every minute your members spend watching there is a minute they're not in your branded space — surrounded by ads, unrelated recommendations, and zero integration with giving, groups, or prayer. The Community Web Portal is where your engaged members and guests should be. For maximum reach, broadcast to both at the same time using the Restream feature in your admin portal — public discovery happens externally, member engagement happens in your portal. You don't have to choose between reach and ownership.
What's included on each tier?
The Community Web Portal is included on every tier — even Starter. Custom branding starts at Growth (basic theme), upgrades to full theme on Pro, and is fully white-labeled on Enterprise (no CSH branding anywhere). The companion Mobile App is a separate offering — see its dedicated page for details on what it adds.
